Impacts

Calendar

After the end of the Divine War the realm has reset their time keeping to be in line for the new age.

  • This was partially done since the last method for keeping time was unreliable.

  • The oldest texts found after pre-Divine War were estimated to be around 100 years old. The calendar was determined to start the new age at the year 100.

  • There has since been found what is thought to be older texts.

Structure

The reformed calendar is built around the lunar cycle, chosen for its reliability after older reckonings were lost:

UnitLengthEquals
Week7 daysbase unit
Moon (lunar cycle)28 days4 weeks
Month56 days2 moons · 8 weeks
Year336 days6 months · 12 moons · 48 weeks
  • A full moon falls at the midpoint of each lunar cycle, so every month holds two: one near its start (day 14) and one near its end (day 42).
  • The first full moon of a month anchors most ceremonies, above all the Binding rituals, held in the Janbuary-Marpril and Jugust-Septober windows.
